The Toyota RAV4 or Highlander: Which is the Right Crossover for Me?

The lineup of vehicles from our favorite Japanese automaker has something for just about everyone; however, sometimes it can be difficult to choose between two models you really like. If you've been on the lookout for a great crossover vehicle for your small family, but you're not sure whether the 2017 Toyota RAV4 or the 2017 Highlander is right for you, then we have some facts that may help make the decision easier for you.

First up, the sizes of these two vehicles are different; the RAV4 is a compact crossover while the Highlander is a mid-size crossover, meaning the Highlander will have more interior space. However, the RAV4's smaller size makes it more maneuverable in small spaces and in city driving. Second, the RAV4's base engine offers higher fuel economy numbers but the Highlander's base engine is more powerful. Both offer roughly the same features, including the standard Toyota Safety Sense P, so technology and safety shouldn't be too much of an issue.

If your decision comes down to your budget, it's worth noting that the RAV4's starting price is lower than the Highlander's. Ultimately, they're both excellent choices but the RAV4's smaller size is better for smaller families or those who tend to drive in urban areas more often.
