You may have heard that Toyota vehicles are indestructible. Certainly they last longer on the road than almost any other brand. But what about indestructible? That might be a bit of a stretch-- so Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson thinks.
Top Gear doesn't just test cars in any ordinary way. They push them to their limits, and they've got the budget and expertise to do it. So, to test the idea that a Toyota truck cannot be destroyed, they took an old truck straight from the farm field and began work.
First, they did a bit of reckless driving, smashing into trees and walls to see if it dislodged any vital parts in the engine.
Then, they tied it down in a tide zone, where it would be overcome be smashing waves of salt water.
When that, miraculously, didn't stop the truck, they just kept on trying, finally lighting it on fire.
